Alien Invasion Party

The alien invasion package is mainly about team games and is suitable for the older age group. The entertainer acts as the inter-galactic referee and will have a different teeshirt (which we will send you in advance). You will also be provided with a bell to use during the party.

You will need to divide the children into 2 teams named Defenders of the Galaxy and Aliens

Use the first game to split them into teams. ie play musical statues with 2 freezes either aliens or defenders and split them into who does the best of each freeze.

It is easy to adapt some of the usual games you play and make them space themed, which are shown below:

Space Games

Find the asteroid - Use silver foil balls hidden around the room and the team that collects the most gets 10 team points
Aliens/Defenders/Rockets - play underscore music and as you say each action the children have to do it. Do 3 rounds and get quicker each time
Space Corners - as normal corners but choose space actions for each corner
Toilet roll game, adapt and do it with tin foil to make a rocket man. Prizes can be awarded for the best model at the end of the allotted time.
Relay race in each team using a space balloon hat as the baton so they have to put the balloon hat on their head before they run.
The R Game - adapt so that the aliens do the loudest alien noise and the defenders do the best scream.
Space quiz- each team at the back of the dance floor and put a bell in the middle at the front and the first team member to run, ring the bell and answer gets 5 points for their team.

Ideas for quiz questions are shown below, please feel free to add more questions or adapt to suit the age of the children you are dealing with.

Team points can be given for all games. The winning team get sweets/prizes (maybe use milky way bars or mars from tub of celebrations). There may be an opportunity for a group photo at the end.

Balloons

If you are nervous about making the special balloon at the party, you can make it in advance and transport it in a cool bag for safe keeping.
